We are immensely blessed in these Latter-Days. Not only to have a Prophet and Apostles. But to be surrounded by priesthood leaders and those who have been set apart to GUIDE US and offer us counsel. Our Bishops, councilors, Quorum leaders and teachers have all been set apart through the priesthood. They all carry a mantel of responsibility over us and they can receive revelation on our behalf.
Sometimes that revelation and counsel can be hard to follow. Maybe because it's not what we want, or it's not yet clear to us WHY we would want it. But we should pray and have faith.
Had I not followed the gentle counsel of my Bishop 13 years ago I may have never met my husband. At that time the counsel made me upset. It was discouraging. But with time it became clear that God had other plans for me. And His plan was much better than anything else I could have wanted.
So have courage, be patient and have faith. God is speaking to YOU! But sometimes he speaks through OTHERS to get his message across.
